Access the trails

of the Tournée des cantons de Rawdon (TDCR)

Whether you’re going to use the trails for a few hours or for a longer stay, you can enter the TDCR network from various access points, most of them with parking, depending on the season and the planned sport or activity.

PLEASE NOTE: access to all our trails is free. However, if you wish to access them via the Rawdon Golf Resort, there is a $12 parking fee in the winter, unless you dine at Gordie’s restaurant. Annual passes are available.

To view the trail maps offline, download the AVENZA app to your mobile device via App Store or Google Play. Then scan the QR codes for TDCR winter, TDCR summer, and Mount Pontbriand to download and view the maps in Avenza. Open the maps when you are on the trails and you will be able to locate yourself at all times.

CLOSURE NOTICE

of trails in the Sunny Hill area

At the request of the landowners, we unfortunately have to close the trail sections that pass through their land, which include portions of Attache ta tuque, Roc et Roule, and Passage du Nord-Ouest (area marked by the ORANGE points indicated on the attached map).

Good news! This closure represents only a small portion of 3km in a network that extends nearly 60km. There are still plenty of kilometers to explore for both hikers and cyclists! By taking the Castor, you can reach the end of Attache ta tuque while avoiding the closed area. We also remind you that there are other areas to explore: Golf sector, Austin Acres, and Mont Pontbriand. Refer to our maps to plan your outings.

THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING THIS NEW SITUATION, AND THANK YOU TO THE AFFECTED LANDOWNERS WHO HAVE SO GENEROUSLY ALLOWED US TO PASS THROUGH FOR MANY YEARS.

ATTENTION

No pets allowed

To help ensure the trails remain in good condition, to promote the safety of all users, and out of respect for the owners who graciously allow such use of their land, no dogs or other pets are allowed in the TDCR trail network. Thank you for your understanding.

Code of Ethics

for TDCR members and users

This code of ethics applies to the wide variety of persons considered as “users”, among them cross-country skiers, snowshoers, cyclists and hikers of all sorts. Compliance with this code of ethics is critical, as it ensures that users practice self-respect while also showing respect for others and for the environment.

Users should practice self-respect by:
  • Focusing on safety and independence;
  • Planning activities ahead of time (including length and difficulty level), based on their physical abilities and endurance;
  • Obtaining information on weather conditions, potential hazards (hunting, wildlife) and rules or limitations specific to the area;
  • Making sure to bring along a first aid kit, a map of the trail network, as well as foodstuffs/supplies (water and snacks) and any necessary equipment or items (change of clothing, cellular phone);
  • Notifying loved ones or family members of their itinerary and approximate return time (or planned duration of the activity).
Users should show respect for others by:
  • Focusing on consideration, sharing and help and support;
  • Giving due consideration to other people’s and to the local wildlife’s right to peace and privacy;
  • Helping those who may find it difficult to cross obstacles or make their way through more challenging sections of the trail network;
  • Never leaving someone who is alone behind;
  • Helping the wounded and ensuring they are cared for, even if it means making a change to your planned itinerary;
  • Sharing water, food or other important items (such as wax, for skiers) with others who have no more supplies.
Users can show respect for the environment by:
  • Focusing on three key elements, namely protection, responsibility and sustainability;
  • Acknowledging that they are making use of private land and agreeing to respect the privacy of the landowners and sanctity of the site;
  • Staying on the marked trails, for safety and protection, but also to abide by the agreement between TDCR and landowners;
  • Abstaining from feeding animals they encounter (rodents, birds, etc.);
  • Picking up all of their trash;
  • Reporting any problems or damage to the trail network to the persons in charge (e.g., fallen trees, broken or dangerous bridge, lack of or erroneous signalization, etc.).
